What is Fedora?

In October 2025, the Fedora community released Fedora Linux 43, featuring key updates across installation, performance, and developer experience:

  • The web-based Anaconda installer is now available across more Fedora Editions and Spins.
  • Improved System Roles and container image tooling.
  • GNOME 48 as the default desktop, with previews of KDE Plasma 6.
  • EROFS for faster live media and FEX emulation improvements for AArch64.
  • Updated toolchains: GCC 15, LLVM 21, and Python 3.14.
  • Broad security, performance, and accessibility enhancements.

What is a Release Party?

Fedora releases a new major version roughly every six months. Each release is an opportunity for contributors, users, and open source enthusiasts to come together, explore what’s new, and celebrate the work behind it.

The Fedora Linux 43 Release Party will feature talks, demos, and discussions with Fedora contributors and SIGs. Whether you’re new to Fedora or a long-time member, join us to learn, connect, and celebrate this milestone release.

Registration is free but required to receive your Matrix event invitation.
